Talk about someone dedicated to excellence…
Here is someone so dedicated to excellence that even though she’s not getting rewarded for it, she does it anyway!
Simone Biles is regarded as the greatest gymnast of all time. She’s so dominant that she does techniques (“skills” in gymnastics parlance) that are so difficult no woman even attempts them.
In fact the International Gymnastics Federation, negatively rewards her!
You see when a gymnastics skill is graded, it’s on execution (how well it’s done) and difficulty. They get a higher score based on how hard it is. Simone’s skills should be rated much higher but they are purposely graded lower because the Federation says they don’t want others trying them.
That doesn’t stop Simone.
In fact, she’s planning more for the Tokyo olympics!
As a sport I am not a gymnastics fan – obviously I am a martial arts fan as a physical activity – but I am a fan of excellence and Simone Biles!
