Make Commitment a Habit Part 3…
Make Commitment a Habit Through the KarateBuilt Martial Arts Program – Part 3!
Last time we discussed the 3 types of “responses” to challenge,
or goal attainment.
Retractive, Passive, and Proactive.
Obviously our goal is to create “Proactive” habits in children, and
teach children to maximize this skill in attaining their goals!
Proactive people realize that a commitment is a promise to take action and
follow through with it. Proactive people have developed a habit of commitment
that makes them stronger and more resistant to life’s challenges.
Their habits make it easier for them to overcome challenges. To become a
proactive person and develop a habit of strong commitment, you need to have
confidence in yourself and be willing to make adjustments in your life to achieve
your goals.
KarateBuilt Martial Arts students often notice an increase in self-confidence as a primary benefit of training.
Self-defense knowledge combined with physical activity impacts the way you feel about
yourself.
KarateBuilt Martial Arts students have described the feeling as “discovering a new
inner potential.”
When you develop this feeling, words like “can’t” , which are directly associated with
the retractive and passive response types, are replaced by proactive phrases such as
” Yes, I can ” and “I must. ”
Our instructors at KarateBuilt Martial Arts are meticulously trained to be shining
examples of this “Proactive” character trait, and serve as positive role models for our
students!
Sincerely,
Sr. Master Greg Moody, Ph.D.
